Heroes: And this week's corny tagline is...
Time for some thoughts on Heroes. This week I think I'll focus on the line they are using to promote the next episode:
Someone Flies, Someone Dies
First, I am not sure that Nathan will be the one that flies. It sounds like it is going to be a very Peter centric episode. I believe we may finally get to see Peter fly. I really don't think they're going to pull a major surprise here. It will either be Peter or Nathan.
Next, lets talk about who I think could die. Here are my choices (in no particular order):
Claire's Real Mom - They haven't done much with her character and it looks like she doesn't want to be a part of Claire's life. The whole situation lends her to being very disposable.
Claire's Adopted Mom - The woman's brain appears to have been fried by one to many mind jobs by the Haitian. Again, she seems very disposable, but this could lead to great drama from Claire and a major confrontation with her adopted father. Which leads me to...
Claire's Father - Seriously. How awesome would this be? Claire now knows who her father his. Her adopted mother has gone loony. What better way to force Clair into confronting her REAL father?
Ando - Sorry, but this is sort of wishful thinking. He's been getting on my nerves lately. If someone puts a bullet in him, I am likely to pump my fist in the air and shout, "WOO HOO!" The guy is holding Hiro back (and the story, for that matter) to indulge in some sort of sex addiction.
Finally, I got a little giddy when I saw the previews for next week. There were some scenes that showed Peter looking a little, well, evil. This bodes well for my theories about Peter losing it and doing the explosion willingly. Also, I predicted a regular character was going to be working for Linderman. Well, turns out Jessica is working for Linderman. Called it!

Dude -- the [this is good] could be just for the photo and caption combo... i nearly did a spit-take with my Diet-Rite...
My top three to bite it are: 1) Simone. Kind of extraneous. Could turn Peter to the Dark Side, Isaac and Peter could hate each other even more, story doesn't really suffer. 2) One of the facets of Nikki/Jessica, though I think they would have set this up a little more... 3) A Petrelli that isn't Peter or Nathan -- mom (who's a total bitch) or the wife. 4) Mrs Parkman -- see Simone, West Coast version for specifics -- could turn Matt "rogue"
I guess that was four. Clearly counting is not my superpower...
The coolest thing is that you mentioned the Nikki/Jessica thing, which is one of my other theories. I have no idea how they would pull it off, unless they have Nikki break out of the mirror or something, and that seems corny. Of course, I can buy people flying and eating brains to get powers, so why is someone breaking out of a mirror so hard to swallow? Not to ruin the movie, but I guess they could also doing something like the ending of Fight Club.
I have been derided at work because I seem to be the only person that hasn't seen Fight Club. I don't think you ruined it and I won't over-ruminate.
I could totally see Nikki "breaking out" of the mirror. And I think they could do it effectively. The hard part would be to construct it in a way that Jessica doesn't just blow her away when she does...
I agree with Steve on the death guesses... I'd prefer it to be Simone, but something tells me it won't be her because she's not a huge character. The only reason why I'm thinking it's gonna be a more main character is because if it were someone like Simone, they probably wouldn't make a big deal out of her death by putting it in the tagline :T
My next guess would be Ando, just because he fell into the broad's little hands like putty.

... But... I don't really expect that to happen... i don't think they're ready to kill off nathan... yet.
