Heroes: Discuss - Godsend Thoughts
My wife and I finally watched the episode of Heroes from Monday. I really don't know where I am going to go with this post, but we'll see where my mind takes me. I will warn you, if you haven't see the episode, this will be full of spoilers.
I'll start with Nathan. Nathan seems to undergo a transformation in this episode. No longer is he resisting anything and everything that has to do with his brother's visions and their inevitable fate, but he took the first steps this week toward actually embracing what is happening. I think the fact that he went to see the artist in light of Pete's condition is a MAJOR point that should not be taken lightly. It shows the strong bond that he has with Peter, and that no matter how big of a jerk he is, he's a big jerk that loves his family.
The second thing I noticed is that Niki is either discovering that she can also utilize her powers, or she is starting to have greater awareness and control over her alter ego. The scene where she sends the cop flying and then stares as if she can't believe what she has done seems like a pretty profound event, in my opinion. To me it appears that Niki is beginning to witness and remember those things that Jessica does, or that Niki is beginning to realize she possesses the same powers as Jessica. Either would be a major turning point for her character.
I hope to see them do more with Claire's character in the next episode (and that looks to be a safe bet from the previews). Having her reveal her ability to Zach again wasn't something I saw coming. I see two possibilities of what is going on here. First, everything will NOT be the way it was. Zach will either not react the same way to her ability or will quickly betray her. Second, maybe the writers only had Zach lose his memory to add to the turmoil that Claire was put through in the wake of the attack by Sylar. Having Claire's best friend forget everything was just a way to tug at our heart strings. Now they just want the two characters back where they were. Actually, as I am typing this, I just thought of a third possibility. This could have been an elaborate way to reveal that Claire used to be one of the popular kids that ignored Zach. I don't believe we ever knew that her and Zach's friendship was a relatively new thing when the show started.
So, these are the things that stuck out in my mind about the episode. I look forward to getting some feedback.

i feel as if nathan is big on family, too, but something about the way he looked at peter in the "explosion" dream is unsettling. he seemed so apathetic to what was going on--everyone was running away from peter--but nathan and the invisible man were the only two (i think) who didn't seem affected by the impeding doom!
a while back i had a hunch that nathan was going to be big brother and save peter from exploding when the time came, but since isaac's paintings seem to come true, maybe nathan won't save peter after all.
i can't wait for claire to find out who her real father is. well, at least i hope she will.
