[edit] - My original title was a little strong. So, I've change it to more accurately represent my true feelings. The former title was Flickr is full of freaks.
I know it has been said before, but there are some sick people in this world.
This morning I awoke to a very disturbing email in my inbox. It was from another Flickr user. The people were warning us about a user named ‘enolagood34’. They said that they had found that he was adding pictures of their children to his favorites. I had received the message because they had discovered he had pictures of my children in his favorites as well. In their case, they felt the content of the pictures he had selected as his "favorites" were cause for concern.
My first thought was the email was some sort of scam, and was waiting for the part where they asked for some personal information to help protect me, but that part never came. They recommended we make our Flickr account private and asked that I report the user to Flickr. That was it. They also said I could search the user’s account and verify that what they were saying was true.
When we did a search for the user, we found his account, but it said he was no longer an active user. That actually convinced me the email was authentic. It would stand to reason that YAHOO! would have shut down the guy’s account based on the complaints they were receiving. I couldn’t think of any reason why someone would email and ask that I report this guy and make my pictures private unless they were trying to help. I guess they could have had a vendetta or something, but I doubt it. Regardless, I’ve always felt that we should probably be more private with our photos, and this just confirmed it.
I took the time this morning to make our Flickr profile and all our pictures private. I’m not taking chances with anything like this. I just thought I would post this as a warning to the rest of you that might have Flickr accounts. I know it is convenient to be able to share your pictures with people that don’t have Flickr, but I’m now convinced it isn’t worth it. Believe me, my family members are as stubborn as they come when it comes to getting accounts for things like Flickr and Vox, but they’re going to have to get over it if they want to view pictures of our kids online.
Show us a picture that's worth a thousand words.

There are few pictures that can capture the personality of a person. Especially someone with as much personality as my daughter. She is the type of kid that puts a smile on the face of every person she comes in contact with. Whether it is the way she says, "HI!" to everyone we see at the store, or the way that she says, "OH NOOO!" so dramatically when she spills milk from her cereal bowl, our daughter never fails to amaze me. I love this picture because I think it captures so much of her personality, and believe me, it isn’t easy to get her to sit still for a picture like this. I don't know why she has her lips the way she does, and frankly, that is part of the joy of this picture. We'll never know what was going through her beautiful mind.
It is hard to believe my little girl will be two in just over a month. This weekend we were at my brother's house and she hopped on a REAL swing for the first time. She saw another girl swinging and she just had to try it. When I first put her in the seat, she really didn't get how tightly she needed to hold on to the chains, but daddy was there to catch her and help her get the hang of it. I started to push her slowly, and she giggled with delight. She had such a good time. I was worried about her letting go, but I managed to gather enough courage to go grab the camera and take this picture.
Priceless.
She is such a character. That expression you see is something she has done for months when she sees the camera pointed at her. She is such a hyper, happy ball of energy. There are really no words to express the joy this little one brings to mine and Jennifer's life.
