*Sigh*....I can't stand copyright law in this country. There are a dozen stories like this every week if you look for them. Oh, the laws are great if you create something, but god forbid anyone actually see it, hear it, or read it.
I wouldn't stand to close to the NFL Commissioner. He is more than willing to omit sports bars from its archaic rules about screen size, but can't see it in his heart to grant a similar omission for churches. Anyone else see a possible lightening bolt in his future?
NFL Pulls Plug On Big-Screen Church Parties For Super Bowl
For years, as many as 200 members of Immanuel Bible Church and their friends have gathered in the church's fellowship hall to watch the Super Bowl on its six-foot screen. The party featured hard hitting on the TV, plenty of food -- and prayer.
The league bans public exhibitions of its games on TV sets or screens
larger than 55 inches because smaller sets limit the audience size. The
section of federal copyright law giving the NFL protection over the
content of its programming exempts sports bars, NFL spokesman Brian
McCarthy said.
